The service was great! My bf and I were picking up some food from the area, and our friend suggested this place because they enjoy the food here. The lady who works here was so nice! She offered us some chips and salsa while we waited on our take out (we were also given this in our takeout bag as well). I ordered three regular tacos (2 lengua and 1 asada) and there was an extra fee for lengua but it wasn't too bad; an extra $1 I think? The lengua here seems a bit softer and less bouncy/chewy compared to the other places I've had it but it was still good. We also got a burrito, enchilada plate and wet burrito and they were all really yummy! Parking wasn't too bad since they have a little parking lot by the restaurant and even if it's full I think there's some street parking nearby.

I crave mexican food often and in an effort to make it a healthier, I will often do a bowl instead of a burrito or tacos and skip the sour cream. I always thought of Tacos El Grullense as a mediocre local tchain mexican restaurant, based on one late night experience . Today I was proven wrong. This rainy Sunday I was proven wrong by a Carne Asada Papa Loca that was crazy good. I am usually underwhelmed by mexican fries because they get so soggy under the goop. The large ( seemingly steamed) baked potato was a perfect vehicle for the elements of juicy carne asada, cheese, onions and an incredible green salsa. It took a reasonable amount of time to reach my table, indicating that it was made to order. i was really hungry and when it came, i was really impressed. The unexpected revelation came in the lowly form of humble butter, which mixed with the salsa and other ingredients so perfectly- making the meat so flavorful. Obviously this is a splurge for diet, but absolutely not the wallet. At $13,50, the Papa Loca is officially my favorite cheap eat on the Peninsula. Add to this the scrupulously clean bathroom ( decorated for Valentine's day) very good service and spectacularly executed free chips and salsa ( they are generously distributed before and with your meal) and Tacos Al Grullense is unquestionably a five star experience

I went on Monday night to buy a quick dinner. And people were so friendly and welcoming with a big smile. That's already a plus for me. Plus the first impression the nice decoration for valentines and on every table some flowers that already put me on a good mood. Then i ordered a carne asada super burrito and strawberry agua fresca. I have to said that the water was very delicious. Eventhough that it was late at night and I was thinking that could be more watery than tasteful but I was wrong. The burrito was really good with a lot of meat. They also put me 3 kinds of salsa and chips. Also I saw a sign that they have menudo, soup that most of the restaurant/taquerias only offered on weekends so I asked and they said they have every single day all day. So that's a huge plus. Next time I will need to try it. They have many dishes that I want to try so I will definitely come back soon.

this is place is pretty good. I've had better and i have had worse mexican food. But this place does have Menudo pretty much everyday which is a plus in my books. the Carne Asada fries were lacking something (probably pico de galo?) but over all good food. service was good, a bit busy but they always offer you chips and salsa even if your waiting for your togo order. slightly small place with about 6 tables, but more in the patio. definitely will go back esp. for the menudo on a cold day

Got to enjoy some burritos and tacos here. I remember this spot use to be a burger/fast food/snack joint that closed down. El Grullense is a welcomed addition to the area. Easy Hwy 101 access and a large parking lot. The burritos are huge! And the tacos are really fresh and tasty. I didn't like the carnitas all that much here though. My experience is that it lacked that crispiness usually found in deep fried pork. A good selection of Mexican bottled sodas and wine/beer offerings. Will be back to try the Birrias.

I finally got to try out this new location with my boyfriend. I'm so glad they have a tacos el grullense close to home! This location is very clean, bright from all the natural lighting, provides multiple tv monitors, has a huge parking lot, and provides plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We've been here a couple of times already and really appreciate a cheap eats. Good service as well. We've only ordered tacos from here. My go to order is pollo asado street taco, no onions with mild green salsa. My boyfriend's go to order is asada street taco with everything on it and a quesabirria taco (I forgot to include a picture). It comes with lemon, pickled carrots and jalapeño on the side. The server gave us house chips + salsa beforehand. The street tacos are $2.75/taco. We're definitely coming back when we have our taco cravings.

We came at 9:20pm on a Fri and this place was busy! We barely got a table, but the tables turn over quickly. The workers were all friendly and efficient. The place is modern and bright and is decorated well. We ordered: - Al pastor super nachos: My husband wants to try the burrito next time - Asada taco: good flavor - Chile Relleno (a la carte): A la carte has no rice/beans/Tortillas-- but this is exactly what I wanted. It was breaded nicely, had a lot of sauce, and they even cut off the stem. Tips: - There is parking on both sides of the building - We ate at the restaurant and they gave us both chips and salsa - There is one restroom available - There is both indoor and outdoor seating - 2 TVs, but there is no audio or subtitles The workers greeted everyone as they came and when they left. They have nice hours and good food. We'll definitely be back if we are in the area!
